With clouds overhead we took the road north to Grampians National Park; our first destination was Dunkeld, the town south of the park; it was an appropriate stop to indulge ourselves with the local products.

Con una nube en la cabeza, tomamos el camino hacia el norte hacia el Parque Nacional Grampians, nuestro primer destino fue Dunkeld, la ciudad al sur del parque, fue una parada adecuada para complacernos con los productos locales.

Inside the park a series of mountains: Piccanini, Sturgeon, and Abrupt, fulfilled our expectations of landscape, the Victoria Range accompanied our trip playing games with the clouds, then the Fyans Creek surprised us with its yellow stones in the riverbed while timid echidnas ran efficiently to their burrow with our arrival.  In the light of the late afternoon we climbed to Mt William Lookout with the expectation of a more expansive view. When we stopped for a walk, small wild flowers were illuminating the track, then beautiful rock formations emerged, and finally we found the open view of the valley and the multicoloured mountains. At last light we arrived at our campground, at the foot of Mt. Difficult; the night was cold but the ambiance created by the different people there was enchanting.

Dentro del parque una serie de montañas: Piccanini, Sturgeon y Abrupt llenaron nuestras expectativas de paisaje, la Cordillera Victoria acompaña nuestro viaje haciendo juegos con las nubes, luego el Arroyo Fyans nos sorprendió con sus piedras amarillas en el lecho del río mientras las tímidas equidnas corrían con eficacia. a su madriguera con nuestra presencia. In Victoria it was not unusual to experience all four seasons in one day; and this was the case here, we had rain several times, alternating with hail, sunny periods, and gusts of wind, so our plans were adjusted to these conditions. During the rain we explored the Brambuk Cultural Centre, in which we increased our awareness of the aboriginal people in the area, their beliefs, and the challenges associated with the colonisation process. Then we explored the different places in the central section of the park, enjoying the magnificent views, the diversity of wild flowers, the impressive rocks exposed, and the beauty of the water which has sculpted the terrain.

En Victoria fue frecuente experimentar todas las estaciones en un día, ese fue el caso en esta área, tuvimos lluvia varias veces, alternando con granizo, tiempos soleados y ráfagas de viento, por lo que nuestros planes se ajustaron a esas condiciones. Durante la lluvia exploramos el Centro Cultural Brambuk, en el que aumentamos nuestra conciencia sobre los grupos aborígenes en el área, sus creencias y los desafíos asociados con el proceso de colonización. Luego exploramos los diferentes lugares disponibles en la sección central del parque, disfrutando de la magnífica vista, la diversidad de flores silvestres, las impresionantes rocas expuestas y la belleza del agua que dibuja la tierra.

After our exploration, and wet enough, we arrived in Ballarat, remembered as being the most important town during the gold rush. Two places are the most important attractions: the art gallery and Sovereign Hill. We spent the morning in the first - a reat collection, enjoyable temporary exhibitions, and a cafe with character. We used the afternoon to explore the second, Sovereign Hill, a live museum recreating the town between 1851 and 1861, a historical village which gave us a contradictory sensation; on one hand the museum does a great job of recreating the physical dimensions of the town including its different areas, and migrants associated with the period, with  actors and actresses representing different roles in the village; on the other hand, most of them are acting in a sales role, so even though they were very open and willing to share some historical facts, the information is limited and superficial, making the experience closer to an amusement park than a museum; based on this the price is very high compared with the value.

Después de nuestra exploración y bastante húmedos llegamos a Ballarat, recordado como el poblado más importante durante la fiebre del oro. Dos lugares son las atracciones principales: la galería de arte y Sovereign Hill. Pasamos la mañana en la primera, gran colección, agradables exposiciones temporales y una cafetería con carácter. Usamos la tarde para explorar el segundo, Sobereighn Hill, un museo en vivo, recreando la ciudad entre 1851 y 1861, un pueblo histórico que nos proporcionó un sentido contradictorio, en un lado el museo hace un gran trabajo recreando la dimensión física de la ciudad, incluidas las diferentes áreas y los migrantes asociados con el período, hay actores y actrices que representan diferentes roles en el pueblo, por otro lado, la mayoría de ellos están haciendo un papel de ventas, por lo que, aunque fueron muy abiertos y dispuestos a compartir algunos hechos históricos, la información fue limitada y superficial, lo que hace que la experiencia sea más cercana a un parque de diversiones que a un museo, en base a esto, el precio es muy alto por el valor.

Maldon

We visited real historic towns later in the day: Clunes and Maldon, they have a great set of old buildings from the 19th century, well preserved. In the first we were impressed to see the number of buildings closed and empty, looking as if the level of commercial activity is not enough to ensure the sustainability of the businesses; in Maldon we found a place full of specialty stores, art galleries, and studios; the sun at the end of the day illuminated the facades and the old buildings were gleaming.

Visitamos ciudades históricas reales más tarde en el día, Clunes y Maldon, que tienen un gran conjunto de edificios del siglo XIX, bien conservados. En primer lugar, nos impresionó ver la cantidad de edificios con locales cerrados y vacíos, al parecer la actividad comercial no es suficiente para asegurar la sostenibilidad de los negocio; en Maldon encontramos un lugar lleno de tiendas especiales, galerías de arte y estudios, el sol al final del día iluminaba las fachadas y los edificios antiguos eran relucientes.

Bendigo was a great surprise, a small city full of character, and intentionally dedicated to creating a sybaritic atmosphere: music, arts, crafts, artisan beer, and craft gin, wineries, and good restaurants slowed down our steps. We visited the art gallery and enjoyde one of the best exhibitions of batik and painting from the central deserts, where it is possible to catch one's breath observing the design, colours, and processes needd for their creation; also an exceptional exhibition of Balenciaga, one of those exhibits which we would probably not have chosen to visit if had known what it was about, however there we were without the slightest idea of ​​the approach or content and we enjoyed it a lot, not only for the content, but also for the way it was created - the animations, the social context, and the influences of the designer and the audience which put a unique touch everywhere.

Bendigo fue una gran sorpresa, una pequeña ciudad llena de carácter e intensamente dedicada a crear atmósferas sibaritas: música, artes, artesanías, cervezas y ginebras artesanales, bodegas y buenos restaurantes, hicieron nuestros pasos mas lentos. Visitamos la galería de arte y disfrutamos de una de las mejores exposiciones de batik y pintura de los desiertos centrales, donde fue posible quedarse sin aliento, observando el diseño, los colores y los procesos necesarios para su realización; También una exposición excepcional de Balenciaga, una de esas exhibiciones que nosotros probablemente no elegiríamos visitar su supiéramos de que sew trataba, pero allí estábamos sin la mas minima idea del enfoque o contenido y la disfrutamos un montón, no solo por el contenido de la misma, sino también por la forma en que fue creada, las animaciones, el contexto social y las influencias del diseñador y la audiencia, que le pone un toque único en cada lugar.

We continued north to Echuca, one of the most important ports on the Murray River. We were impressed to see the river here at this time of the year, with the dry landscape, the atmosphere full of smoke and windblown dust, and the very murky waters; the river did not inspire the freshness that we had found months before in Mildura, however the port has been well preserved and it is possible to walk around and discover the curious facts of its origin.

Continuamos al norte, a Echuca uno de los puertos mas importantes en el Rio Murray. Nos impresionó ver el río en este lugar y epoca del año, con el paisaje seco, la atmósfera llena de humo, el viento levantando la tierra y las aguas mas turbias, el rio no inspira la frescura que nos entregó meses antes en Mildura, sin embargo el puerto se ha preservado y es posible caminar alrededor y descubrir los hechos curiosos de su formación.

Back to the south, Shepparton and Mitchelton captured our time. In Shepparton, the regional art gallery allowed us to delight in the works of different contemporary artists and at the Aboriginal Art Centre we deepened our understanding of ceramic balls for carrying fire. Later in Michelton we were able to explore the work of the second generation of the Possum family, one of the most beautiful exhibits of aboriginal art, where the format and stories of the works are a great dance of creativity, freedom, and resilience.

De regreso al sur, Shepparton y Mitchelton, capturaron nuestro tiempo. En Shepparton, la galeria de arte regional, nos permitió deleitarnos entre las obras de diferentes artistas contemporáneos y en el Centro de Arte Aborigen, profundizar nuestro entendimiento de las bolas de cerámica para cargar el fuego. Después en Michelton, pudimos explorar la obra de la segunda generación de la familia Possum, una de las mas bellas exhibiciones de arte aborigen, en donde el formato y las historias de las obras son una gran danza de creatividad, libertad y resiliencia.
